What is jargon? Pt 1

Jargon is the specific vocabulary, peculiar to a particular trade, profession, or group.

Lawyers, doctors, mechanics, and yes, even teachers, have their own vocabuarly particular to their profession.

Business jargon - a very wide world of terms - is discussed in a later article.

In technology, for example, terms like "game-changing," "mission-critical," and "award-winning" are used throughout the industry.

Beware in using and abusing jargon though. Use it only with those in your particular industry because the rest of us will not have a clue what you are talking about, usually.
