Attorney General asks Court to reconsider complaint against journalist
The Court discredited the opinion columns by Maria Jimena Duzan and Cecilia Orozco.
The Attorney General of the country, Eduardo Montealegre, asked the Supreme Court to reevaluate the complaint against journalist Cecilia Orozco for alleged crimes of injury and calumny.
“With all due respect for the Supreme Court, I would invite them to a cordial discussion with the press,” the Attorney General said.
Montealegre said that the Attorney General could establish mechanisms for the debate about the role of journalists and columnists.
The column by Orozco together with a text published by Maria Jimena Duzán in the magazine Semana were discredited by the Supreme Court.
