Colombian airline Avianca confirmed suspension of its flights to and from Venezuela starting Thursday, July 27 "due to the difficulties for air operations" in that country.

The company reported on Wednesday that the suspension was going to occur on August 16, but Thursday explained that "for operational limitations in recent hours, we must cancel operations to Venezuela today."
